Thoughts that won’t quit
The thoughts and beliefs about ourselves, especially as women in mid-life, can be the guideposts or barriers to achieving our dreams. Engaging in a coaching conversation brings these thoughts to the surface so they can be observed, held, challenged, tested and ultimately transformed with compassion and self acceptance. Below is an outline of questions that may arise in a coaching conversation.
I feel stuck.
Coaching question: What would “unstuck” look and feel like?
This isn’t what I want.
Coaching question: How do you know?
I’m not who I used to be.
Coaching question: What’s okay about that? What’s not?
This isn’t right.
Coaching question: What would make it “right?”
I just don’t believe I can change.
Coaching question: How would it change things for you if you did believe you could change?
This is just who I am.
Coaching question: What do you get by accepting that? What do you give up?
Even if I got what I wanted, there are too many risks.
Coaching question: How would that change your beliefs if there were no risks?
